Statement of Purpose:
The Lead Population Health Data Architect uses mathematics, statistics, modeling, business analysis, and technology to transform high volumes of complex data into advanced analytic solutions. This position is expected to have experience in Population Health tools like Cerner HealtheIntent or other population health systems.

This is a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to work with key executives and physicians to develop and implement the analytical and predictive tools needed to achieve our population health goals and improve the health of our members.

Reporting Relationships:
This position reports to the Sr. Director of Population Health and has a dotted line relationship to the Manager of Interoperability and Development Information Technology.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Functions in a lead role in the database design, build, and implementation to support population health analytics.
Pulls, manipulates, structures healthcare data utilizing tables within different data sources and with different products
Focuses on translating data into actionable dashboards and reports using visualization tools and technology and present to various audiences.
Responsible for providing data visualizations (reports and dashboards) to support stakeholder requirements
Analyzes existing reports to improve performance and developing new reports using best data visualization practices and processes
Assembles large and multiple complex data sets and sources to meet functional/non-functional business requirements
Works with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams along with data analysts and data scientists to develop data visualizations that provide business insights
Under the direction and guidance of the Manager of Interoperability and Development Information Technology, supports the technical aspects of the Cerner HealtheAnalytics application.

Utilizes available tools to automate and expedite accurate, complete, and efficient reporting.

Writes queries against clinical/population health databases, providing timely, and accurate reporting to physicians, clinical staff, and administrative stakeholders.

Designs and implements custom database for long term retention of relevant data extracted from population health database.

Assists enterprise resources in training their personnel and preparing user reference materials as necessary.

Works closely with stakeholders to gather requirements to inform the design of Population Health Management applications and implements changes to better suit the organization’s needs.

Develops reporting to make data more meaningful for business and clinical initiatives.

Collaborates on data quality conditions and monitoring with subject matter experts

Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new business domains and technologies

Demonstrates strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to carry out assigned tasks with limited oversight

Ability to build processes to support data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management

Interpersonal Relationships:
This position interfaces with all departments and its affiliated entities, as well as callers from outside the organization such as physicians, attorneys, service providers, vendors and the public at large. This position interacts with managerial staff members and requires a high degree of tact and communication skills.


Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the field of Data Visualization, Computer Sciences, Statistics, Mathematics, Business or related field required. Master’s degree in Data Visualization, Computer Science Business Analytics or other technical fields desirable.

Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience or equivalent with data visualization practices, principles, and technologies in a healthcare or similar environment.
Experience and proficient with the following tools:
o SQL
o Tableau
o Power BI
o Business Objects
Experience with data visualization methods and ability to tell a story with data
Strong communication, interpersonal and critical thinking skills are required.
At least one (1) year of Cerner Command Language (CCL) preferred
At least one (1) year of healthcare quality measures preferred
At least one (1) year of managed care experience preferred
Knowledge of subject matters such as process optimization, clinical workflows, population health, public health, disease prediction, readmissions, imaging analytics and in/out-patient monitory and alerting is preferred.
Experience in analyzing user specifications for detailed report writing and Cerner application design with ability to troubleshoot and test with Cerner applications is preferred.
