The Cybersecurity Team Lead directs and coordinates the activities of the Cybersecurity team to achieve milestones and objectives in the assessment, implementation and operation of technical and procedural controls of the Company's cybersecurity infrastructure for the purposes of ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information and resources.

Accountable for all aspects of Cyber operations including incident/change management, resource management, work direction/prioritization, capacity planning, and communications. Acts as a hands-on leader providing technical expertise and mentorship for Cyber related systems and projects. Partners with business clients/IT staff to deliver efficient, effective, and secure network solutions. Fosters collaboration, cross training, and achievement of employee development plan milestones.

Requires the ability to work effectively in a strong and cohesive team environment by sharing responsibilities and knowledge with others. Responsible for managing projects and their respective deliverables, setting priorities and allocating the appropriate resources to meet customer requirements and time lines

Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee Cyber Operations and lead applicable cybersecurity departmental personnel (Exempt, Non-Exempt, and Contractor) to ensure team and individual performance levels consistently meets the clients’ needs and contribute to the success of the business units.
Provide daily management and hands on work direction, including guidance on solutions, standards and procedures to department personnel to ensure individual objectives are met and delivered on schedule. Identify and implement improvements to operational environment, controls, and processes.
Provide Tier 3 support to our clients when needed as well as coordinate efforts with third party vendors for resolution of Tier 3 support issues. Coordinate service calls and schedule appointments with service providers to ensure satisfactory resolution.
Manage team assigned tasks, tickets, and status updates to ensure resolution of client requests/incidents/problems in accordance with current standards and SLO/SLAs
Hire, coach, develop and counsel exempt and non-exempt employees. Provide guidance to members of the team to potentially include remote site employees. Prepare and present employee performance appraisals.
Maintain and operate cybersecurity technology and provide expertise in area of focus (e.g. Risk Assessments, Controls Engineering or Incident Response)
Provide awareness and guidance within the community on secure business processes, architecture design, and technical controls
Manage vendors/contractors to ensure they deliver the value and services as contracted.
Communicate strategy, and influence decisions with all levels of management across IT teams, and within other company departments/organizations.
Maintain awareness of evolving cybersecurity threats and best practices for mitigation.
Develop procedures and guidelines for implementing information security systems and practices.

Enter License/Certifications
Bachelors Degree preferred
CISSP, GISP, GIAC, CISA or CIA certification
Targeted professional cybersecurity certifications (i.e. forensics and incident response) very desirable

Experience

Experience leading a team of at least 3+ people
Minimum of 5+ years of direct experience within the information security field.
Broad knowledge of multiple technical and procedural areas within the information security field and industry-recognized expertise in at least one cybersecurity discipline.
Proven experience leading projects of large and small security related initiatives to successful completion.
Requires demonstrated experience in vendor selection, testing, implementation, and operations of a broad array of security technologies.
Utility specific information security and/or related infrastructure background is preferred.
Experience with Network Security products (Palo Alto firewalls, Stealthwatch Nework Behavioral Analysis, ZScaler, CASB.
Experience with Security Information Management tools (Splunk)
Experience with Vulnerability Assessment tools (Nessus preferred)
Deep experience with Microsoft Windows Operating systems
Experience with Cloud security controls
Experience with Endpoint Security Products (McAfee Preferred)
Experience with hacking toolsets and methodologies
Experience with Network design and Security implications
